One way to make yum to yum faster is to automatically select the nearest and available yum repo mirror list and sort them according to their yum rpm query speed. When installed, this yum addon actually sorts your repo mirror list based on your current geo IP address location and internet download speed from those yum repo lists.

Simply, install yum-fastestmirror using yum as shown
# yum -y install yum-fastestmirror
