I am sure almost everybody of us have heard the linux multi-messenger alternative, that comes with KDE environment. If you have not installed KDE as one of your alternative X logon environment, chances are kopete and its dependency libraries were not installed.
KDE and the Kopete developers had made and improved a lot of messenger's feature and intuitive interface design. One noticeable changes was the usage and management of messenger's avatar images. Avatar images adds up some sweetness to application's taste that believed to spice up little of using the said messenger. Pop up menu interface on choosing messenger identity is also added from its main interface design, which complete removes the standy icon that always sits down at the bottom and right hand side of kopete.
Kopete currently supports more than 11 major messaging system that is currently available on different OS platforms. You get to enjoy these highlights when using kopete messenger. Just a simple account setup is the only thing needed on accounts creation. Account creation simply requires you to feed authentication details into kopete such as login username and password, which is easy from the most part and does not require you to install any modules or external application at all compared to different platforms.
All in all, kopete had made a tremendous improvement on making linux messaging system a much more enjoyable experience.
Now, here's how to install Kopete messenger with Fedora 9 OS.
FEdora 9: Kopete Messenger Installation
The installation is really simple. Launch yum to fetch all the kopete network library modules via yum as shown
# yum -y install kopete
Enjoy.
