Adobe Releases AIR for Linux

Adobe today released AIR for Linux. AIR is Adobe’s platform that allows to create rich internet applications that run on most platforms.

This release of AIR is beta version that is mostly feature-complete. Previous versions of AIR in Alpha form lacked many of the features of the Windows and Mac versions.

On the downside, Adobe Labs says in its system requirements that the AIR beta runs on Ubuntu 7.10, Fedora 8, OpenSuSE 10.3. Most of those distributions are now well out of date which might suggest that Adobe is completely out of touch with its potential Linux user base.
