HowTo: ThinFeeder - RSS/RDF/Atom Aggregator

Looking for Java based cross-platform feed aggregator?

Here's a quick entry for ThinFeeder aggregator.

ThinFeeder is an open source software that aims to provide a cross-platform, powerful and tiny RSS / Atom (currently RSS 0.9x, RSS 1.0 / RDF, RSS 2.0 and Atom 0.3) aggregator for desktop, using the Java development language. Thinfeeder needs Java to run and it eats only a small amount of your CPU resources when used.

Inside Thinfeeder environment, it offers a sleek, nice, simple GUI application operation and interface design. Thinfeeder also supports multiple languages. One nice feature of Thinfeeder is the OPML import/export feature which can come handy on exported Google Reader OPML file. Another nice feature of ThinFeeder is that its interface is themeable and skinnable like most clientside feed reader application!

Since it is Java based, Thinfeeder is cross-platform feed reader and available from many worlds of Linux, Macs and Windows.

ThinFeeder Installation

Thinfeeder is curently not available from Fedora project.

If you wish to launch ThinFeeder from your Java-enabled browser now, click here. This would install and launch a new window similar below.

Simply, accept any Java prompts to continue installation.

And finally, subscribe from those feeds and start aggregating!

Here's my own screenshot.
